IP Workbench

Networking Tools for macOS.

A native Mac workspace for network discovery, diagnostics and Wi-Fi analysis. Bring everyday checks, subnet planning and saved results together.

Inside the App

From “What’s Connected?” to “What’s Going On?”

For people who set up, troubleshoot and look after networks on a Mac.

Discover Devices

Investigate a bounded IPv4 range or explicit IPv6 targets. Keep device notes, compare saved baselines and export supported results.

Run Everyday Checks

Bring ping, trace route, DNS lookups, TCP checks and HTTP/TLS inspection into one workspace, with results you can review.

Inspect Wi-Fi

View grouped network names and their individual radios, with channel, signal and security details. Wi-Fi identifiers depend on macOS Location permission.

Plan IPv4 & IPv6

Calculate subnet ranges, split networks, allocate mixed prefixes and check overlapping ranges locally. Planning does not probe the addresses.

Compare DNS Answers

Compare response codes, answers and query times across up to four resolvers. The selected name is sent to those resolvers when you run the check.

Keep Useful Results

Retain local diagnostic history and saved workspaces. Export supported results to CSV, JSON or PDF, depending on the tool.

Also in the toolbox: a read-only DHCP lease viewer, bounded MTU testing and a T568A/T568B Ethernet cable reference.

A Closer Look

Work Through the Address Plan

The IPv4/IPv6 planner shows network and address bits, subnet ranges and allocation results. Check the plan before moving on to network changes.

This screenshot shows the actual app calculating an example IPv6 range. It uses documentation addresses; no network scan was run.

Availability & Requirements

A Look at the Current Build

This page previews IP Workbench in development. Public download, pricing and support details are still to be confirmed.

Current Build
0.5.0 · Build 16
Platform
Apple silicon · macOS 26 or later
Built In
Native networking checks and planning tools
Optional Engines
External tools are installed separately; some checks need additional permissions or hardware.

Current limits: Wi-Fi results depend on macOS and radio visibility; complete detection is not guaranteed. IPv6 nonfragmenting MTU probing was unavailable under the tested Mac permissions. macOS 26 compatibility testing and public distribution preparation remain open.
